For 35 years Barbara Woody MAEd taught elementary students in Detroit and was the director of the Gifted and Talented Magnet Program. Her primary interest was children’s literature. She used picture books to teach content, engage and motivate students, build thinking skills, and create a positive and dynamic classroom culture. As a staff developer for Learning Sciences International, she is equally committed to helping teachers become more effective in their pursuit of instructional excellence.
Ms. Woody received her B.A. in elementary education from the University of Michigan. She has two Master of Arts Degrees in curriculum and instruction from Eastern Michigan University. In 2009 Barbara earned her education specialist degree in school administration from Oakland University in Michigan.
