Catherine Menard, EdD, has always had a passion for mathematics and science. After earning a BS in microbiology, she was a medical technologist for several years. For nearly 30 years, she pursued a career in public education as a high school science and mathematics teacher and a curriculum director in several Maine school districts. She has also taught graduate-level courses in educational leadership at the University of Maine. Since retiring from public education, Dr. Menard has continued to work with teachers and administrators to improve teaching practices and raise student achievement. Her professional interests include effective use of formative assessment data and research-based instructional strategies to increase student learning.
