For more than 16 years, Gail Charles-Walters has served as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, assistant principal, special assistant to the superintendent, and campus principal. Under her leadership as an elementary principal, her campus rose from a low performing school to one of excellence, achieving the highest academic status awarded by the state education agency. She has a passion for teaching and learning and believes that the future of the economy depends on the quality of the education provided to students. Ms. Charles-Walters is committed to helping teachers improve pedagogy and deepen their content knowledge to improve instruction and increase student achievement. She also guides administrators in becoming instructional leaders while they build and sustain school cultures of high performance and excellence.
Mrs. Charles-Walters earned her master’s of education from Tarleton State University, her bachelor of arts in education from Northwestern State University, and a superintendent certificate from Texas A&M University Central Texas.
