Judy Schmitz, MSEd, has had a 40-year career in education, originating with her intense interest in the sciences and culminating in her role as a staff developer for school administrators and teachers through the work of Learning Sciences International. With experience in large urban, small suburban, and parochial schools, Ms. Schmitz has served as a classroom science teacher, reading specialist, school administrator, and curriculum director. She has had the pleasure of working with university students and classroom teachers on the development of curriculum and enhancement of classroom instructional strategies. While in the classroom, she taught biology, geology, and environmental science and is thrilled to have the opportunity to focus on both the art and the science of teaching once again through Dr. Marzano’s work. Ms. Schmitz received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
