Ria Schmidt, PhD, brings more than 20 years of expertise as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator to her work as a staff developer and instructional designer. Her experience ranges from pre-K through secondary education. Dr. Schmidt’s passion for building capacity, professional development, standards-based education, assessment, differentiation, and working with teachers and administrators inspires everything she does.
She has worked extensively in public, parochial and private schools. She earned her doctorate in educational administration from Capella University. Dr. Schmidt recently co-authored two books with Dr. Robert J. Marzano: Recording & Representing Knowledge: Classroom Techniques to Help Students Accurately Organize and Summarize Content, and Revising Knowledge: Classroom Techniques to Help Students Examine Their Deeper Understanding.
