Rebeccah Potavin, M.Ed., has been working in the educational field for the last twenty years. She has served in a variety of positions including classroom teacher, Student Services Specialist, Title I teacher, 21st CCLC Community Outreach Specialist, After-school Academy Program Coordinator for thirty-two schools at the district level, and Assistant Principal in a Title I K-6 school. She finished her tenure as a turnaround Principal of a Title I PreK-8 school in a partnership with the UVA School Turnaround Program. Her varied experience gives her a broad perspective when assisting schools with systemic change efforts. She believes that bridging the educational gap requires relationship building within the school and the community in addition to a strong belief that all students can meet high expectations. Rebeccah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University.
Rebeccah’s educational career has been multi-faceted and led her through a journey of teaching and serving others. During her tenure as a preK-8 Principal, Rebeccah continued to seek ways to relieve stress and find work-life balance which furthered her love and passion for yoga. Over the last fifteen years of physically practicing yoga, she built a stronger connection to mind, body and spirit which led her to deepen her education of yoga. Rebeccah is an E-RYT 500 and YACEP with Yoga Alliance and has taught yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices for the last five years in her community.
