Lylia King, Ed.D.

Dr. Lylia King is a Staff Developer with LSI. A life-long learner who enjoys leading change focused on continuous improvement, she believes that when you know better, you do better. Dr. King enjoys working with school teams to help them implement strategies for increasing rigor in their classrooms.

She has worked in Texas Public Schools for 29 years, with 23 of those years being in administration. She has worked as a coach, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and curriculum director. Her principal experience includes elementary, intermediate, and middle school levels, while her curriculum director experience includes K-12. She has worked in rural, suburban, and urban school districts. In addition to her school experience, Dr. King has worked as a principal coach and as a relationship manager for an educational publishing company.

Dr. King received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tarleton State University, and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She also completed Principal Academy training at Lamar University, and earned a Doctor of Educational Leadership from Baylor University.
