Sandy Shedenhelm, MSEd

Sandy Shedenhelm is a results-oriented educator with 25 years of visible achievement. As a middle school English language arts teacher, her students consistently achieved two or more years of growth. As a standards coordinator and instructional coach, she and her team significantly raised math achievement across all sub-groups, earning statewide recognition. And as a senior director at a non-profit, Sandy authored a suite of professional learning online courses in formative assessment that are used statewide in Ohio, Tennessee, and Georgia as well as in Hong Kong and Ireland. In this role, she also served as the professional development lead and strategist for Ohio’s and Tennessee’s Race to the Top efforts around formative assessment.

Although she enjoys developing resources that demonstrate strong assessment and instruction, Sandy is most at home working side-by-side with educators, supporting their practice and growth. Sandy is thrilled to be part of the LSI faculty where she can continue to help educators raise achievement for students—regardless of their ZIP code.

Sandy holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of Dayton.
