Shawn Merriweather

Shawn Merriweather brings with her over 30+years of experience in both Private and Public Education. She has worked in the capacity of a classroom Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Executive Director of Curriculum, Regional Director and Assistant Superintendent.

A strong believer that the power of positive thinking is contagious, Shawn is known for her ability to build lasting meaningful relationships and embraces the saying “A person doesn’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

Shawn’s expertise and passion are working with Turnaround Schools and Transformation Schools. She has worked closely with School Leaders and teachers to develop focused action plans encouraging systematic problem solving to bring rapid dramatic sustainable change, within low performing schools.

Her work has spanned across the State of Michigan working with Michigan Department of Education supporting and monitoring schools which were identified as failing schools. She is committed and passionate about closing the achievement gap and embraces and welcomes the challenges of working with low performing schools.

Shawn holds a BS in Education from the University of Michigan and Master’s in Educational Leadership as well as Curriculum, from Saginaw Valley State University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Studies with a concentration in Educational Policy, Leadership and Innovation.
