Yolanda Burns EdS

Yolanda Burns works as a staff developer for Learning Sciences International (LSI), providing research based professional development for school leaders, administrators and teachers aimed at school improvement.

Yolanda has over 32 years of experience in public education (K-5). She has served her community and fellow colleagues in various roles such as, school administrator, RTI coordinator, International Baccalaureate and Dual Language Immersion coordinator, instructional coach, math coach, professional development liaison, Early Intervention Specialist and classroom teacher.

Yolanda has a strong background in data driven standards-based instruction, inquiry learning, curriculum design, positive classroom management, and research based instructional practices. Her passion to reach all children, dedication to education and love for empowering others has allowed her to successfully lead and support several state, district, and school-based initiatives to raise student achievement. Yolanda earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Brenau University and her specialist’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University.

Yolanda is currently retired and spends her free time loving on family, selling real estate, volunteering at Operation Lunchbox, tutoring and crafting.
